Thanks for taking care of this so quickly Bjoern. Once my poudriere builder is free, I'll do some build tests. Also, I can't check this carefully now, but I think you should also remove PORTREVISION from net/wifi-firmware-kmod/Makefile.inc (or set it to 0).

@bz, I installed 15.0 from the memstick image over a wireless connection (Intel ax210 card). This wasn't possible with 14.3, so it's progress. Do you think it's implied that this applies to WiFi chipsets supported by this firmware? I can try to be more specific with something like

I contacted @bdrewery, and he pointed me to discussions about this port at https://reviews.freebsd.org/D53723.
I verified that it's directly linking to libX11.
