Summary
It will be used to give hint to CAM layer that the enlightened SCSI
driver is going to take over ATA disks.

I can't say that I like this. All this area looks uglier and uglier. :(

Just curious, how is it handled in Windows guest? How Hyper-V designers supposed this functionality to be used?

Heh, admittedly ugly. This patch is aborted. We have found a way to veto the ada under the emulated ata controller in a nicer way. We will continue the topic in https://reviews.freebsd.org/D7693
