Summary

Hello FreeBSD community,

happy new year! Lots of things have happened in 2022, terrible global events have happened, life happened due to that… long story short, I go by this name now. You can consider this as sort of a coming-out-as-trans story except I wasn't even hiding much online, I just really struggled with picking a name.

Due to all the life stuff I took a bit of a break from FreeBSD but I'm not done. I have at least one exciting proposal in the pipeline (spoiler: I figured out how a really tiny and simple kernel facility could make Capsicumizing unsuspecting programs significantly easier) for example :)

But first, let's update my copyrights. (To prove that I'm still the same… me, I'm submitting this from the same account as all the previous patches, though it seems like I'm going to have to make a new one because Phabricator usernames are immutable.) Also, it feels awkward to be the first person asking for this, but: has adding a Git .mailmap file to track contributor name and email address updates been considered?

Event Timeline

Welcome back! I'm not sure it is a good design or not, but the username of Phabricator is able to be changed so the phabric-admin can help you to do so. Things will be easier if you still have your old email address working. You can file a ticket at https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi?product=Services with "Code Review" component, comment with your old and new email to approve the transfer. Yes, that means you need to register a new account on bugs.freebsd.org, but after the operations in other systems, bugmeister can help you to merge these two accounts (also by filing a ticket with "Bug Tracker" component.) Thus all your tracking records will be consolidated in one account.

Copyright changes look good.
.mailmap might be a good thing. thanks for the suggestions. We'll see what we can do.
