I found this from slightly confusing on the direction and had to read the kernel definition, does changing this to via or to make sense to you?

This seems a bit clearer yes.

It might be worth adding an extra sentence to the effect of, "That is, the data will be transmitted via "sp_fd" as if userspace had called send() directly." In any case I think it's fine to commit this on its own.
