As a side note, could you just make sure that the resulting HTML looks fine? You can use mandoc -Thtml ./development.7 > /tmp/a.html && firefox /tmp/a.html. I wonder if the link looks weird if it is in its own paragraph.

I've not realized that all the other links in the manual are formatted like this as well. Also, I've checked the generated HTML myself. Seems OK :)
