"technique" sounds a bit wrong, maybe "feature" or "mechanism"?

As written, it feels like the next sentence should explain the mitigation a bit. Absent that, maybe, "LASS additionally mitigates Meltdown-style speculative-execution side-channel attacks"?

Mitigation is one of the consequences of LASS design, but it is not only about mitigation, but also access control.
Not sure how to formulate it.
