Is the version really 0.0.1 ?

Because if you are just choosing a number to go with the commit hash, you should use something like:

PORTVERSION= 0.0.g2016.09.26

But it should be the commit date, not the day you make the update.

It is a little difficult to determine the exact version the upstream author would like us to prescribe, because the GitHub repo has not been tagged with a version. There hasn't been a commit in just over a year, but the main.c and command line output shows version 0.0.1.
