The FreeBSD Mall retiring is actually a big deal in the project's history. They've been supporting us for over two decades. A commit for their retirement needs to remove it from the whole doc tree at once, and have a nice little text about how this was meaningful and we appreciate them, and needs to mention that @cperciva spoke with them.
@grahamperrin started this on GitHub, and he needs to finish it and get the credit for finishing it. The pull requests are here:

They need to be squashed into one, finished to remove everything, commit message fixed, remove the now empty part of the docs, fix links to that, and, Graham needs to unblock me from the reviews. As a doceng# member, it is not permissible for me to be locked out of documentation reviews, especially for vendor relations.
It can't be framed as just removing a dead link, after how deep the relationship has been.
