I think this is a sensibler change to make based on the feedback we've received after our earlier announcements. I think we need to send the text of this section out to announce@ as its own e-mail soon.

Should we put this note as the 2nd paragraph? Or something like "See below for armv7." there? Basically indicate that all but armv7 will be deprecated?

FreeBSD 15.0 is not expected to include support for 32-bit platforms, other than armv7. The armv6, i386, powerpc platforms will be removed.

Yeah, probably it should be earlier.

I agree with the overall change.

website/content/en/releases/14.0R/relnotes.adoc
955–956

This change seems wrong, but is a no-op ({releaseCurrent} is 14.0-RELEASE).

959–961

If so, the first "these" on line 810 will need to be more explicit.

Oh, I just missed this when updating. I had started with taking a text copy from the page (instead of the raw AsciiDoc) and then merged the modified version back into .adoc and use got this wrong.

Move armv7 note earlier

Reword this, right now it is "Support for deprecated ... is also deprecated"

958–959

It seems like we are already including some level of 32-bit support for one or more platforms in 15.0 or later, maybe "for additional platforms"? Or something like "This is subject to change prior to FreeBSD 15.0 depending on community feedback and committed efforts to support these platforms."

Yeah, I am not quite sure what to say, I'll play with it. We won't be removing i386 from ports fully for example.

Much improved.

"will be removed" without a timeframe seems misleading; it sounds like they will be gone in 15.0. Maybe "in the future" or something more specific?

Never mind, I realized this was what you meant. I shouldn't comment after midnight...

This could now be "the November 2023 release date for". Could be a followup commit in a day or two after the release announcement comes out.

I think it's ready to go too.

Or "Given a release date of November 2023". I'd feel free to tweak this before pushing it.
