Summary
bhyve gained support for TPM emulation in the upcoming FreeBSD 14.0. The
firmware has to setup the TPM to make it useable for the OS.

Would that break something on FreeBSD < 14 ?

If you don't configure a TPM device for your VM, the TPM driver refuses to start and the boot wents on properly.
