Summary

To reflect my work on the rewrite, which is in-part sponsored by
the FreeBSD Foundation.

I have also included trhodes@ copyright, since he submitted the original
patch for this in PR 100803. I do not know if those changes necessarily
constitute an original work.

FF part LGTM. The changes from PR100803 seem to mostly be updating function names/arguments? I also am unsure if it warrants a copyright statement, but I have no objection to it.

Seems good to me... Tom's changes could go either way for me for doing copyright stuff, they were mostly tweaks, but there were a fair number of them...
