Summary

Remove no longer useful astro/boinc-setiathome-v7 port.

The setiathome project is on v8 now, and we (FreeBSD) can use linux binaries with
the boinc-client port LINUX option.

do I need an UPDATING entry here?

"Has expired" means that DEPRECATED= was set and the EXPIRATION_DATE= has passed. Here you're just removing it.

Is there another port that people should be using instead? If so, the message should say so, and it should be the second field.

No, just set LINUX on the already required boinc-client port.

So people need to remove this port and recompile another port with a different option?

Capital letters. "setiathome" isn't the name of the project.

If people need to install or do something else, say it briefly here.

ler edited edge metadata.

Done. REALLY long line, is that ok in MOVED?

So net/boinc-client contains SETI@home v8?

it can download Linux binaries of setiathome-v8 (Crypto-signed) if the user joins that project.

Okay, then yes you need an UPDATING entry to explain what people have to do.

And you can shorten the MOVED entry, something like "No longer sending v7 WUs. Recompile net/boinc-client with LINUX option and add SETI@home project" or something.

The problem here is that there's no Linux-enabled package of boinc-client (am I wrong about that?). Binary package users can't run SETI@home anymore.

so, no. (it's a ports@ maintainer). I could make a slave with LINUX enabled.....

That's what I'd do. Gives users something to actually switch to.
