LGTM. We can expand the BASIC-CI image a little bit further if you like, up to you. Upstream doesn't make sense to me here, so "other" seems a reasonable swap.

`BASIC-CI` images are minimal FreeBSD builds with cloudinit-compatible
`nuageinit(7)` scripting installed by default, to enable custom automated
scripting on startup. These are used by other projects to run test
suites; they are not part of FreeBSD's own CI infrastructure.

ok?

This revision now requires changes to proceed.May 19 2026, 7:42 AM

What if we did this, to make it more consistent with the table:

* SD Card images: Pre-installed systems for single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi.

Also, pre-installed is an important point like we mentioned in the bullet above.

Honestly, this section was broken and is still broken, because the section is called "choosing an image" but it does not explain the images. BASIC-CI, the most FAQ, now has a disclaimer that it is not what the reader intuitively thinks is, which is a doc smell, due to the an extremely unequal weighting of information where no other VM image is even explained at all. Cloudinit images are not mentioned, and they are the hot thing right now. The difference between DVD1 vs disc1 is not explained at all, so people will still ask questions about what those are.

Yes, it's true, I think we need to work in a new about section and also in a new download section
