Thanks for this.
But before making the commit. Why the freebsdmall should be removed? The service it’s active.

Are you sure the anchor can be removed safely? Is it used nowhere else in the documentation?

Thanks for this.
But before making the commit. Why the freebsdmall should be removed? The service it’s active.

Because we already have a part of Handbook dedicated to it, to which we already link here, and I don't see the reason to explicitly link to FreeBSD Mall specifically without mentioning the other two retailers.

No idea. Perhaps I could remove the subtitle, but leave the anchor where it was?

Maybe? The text would look kinda out of place without the subtitle, but making it a tip or a note with no title would WFM.

I suggest let's change it to https://download.freebsd.org/ports/

OTOH, this is just snapshot and not the latest content, should we tell users fetch latest ports through git or other ways?

While here, it looks https://www.freebsd.org/ports/ is not the web interface. I'm not sure if we should point to ports git web interface.

I wonder if we need this section at all. I mean, it's supposed to be about downloading FreeBSD installation media; ports and packages seem a bit off-topic here?
