Do you have any references? This type of change needs a commit message trailer like

Fixes: HereIsTheCommitHash (commit title of fixing change)

I'm not sure what you mean about a hash.
This is in response to PR171657.
I took the explanation in the BUGS section, clarified it, and moved it to a subsection.
