I'm not really a fan of "newer." We're still describing floppy boot here though and so a more significant rewrite is probably needed -- "newer" could be removed with that.

I'd move the "Some newer" block up, since BIOS vs UEFI is quite fundamental difference, but I'm ok with current form too.

Maybe a date? Although I'm not sure what date to use.

"Computers made after 2010 might use UEFI firmware instead of a BIOS."

Telling the reader how to determine which they have would be useful, if there is an easy way.
