Intel's NICs based on the XL710 chipset exist 1 . There exist drivers for Linux and FreeBSD 2 . It does not appear to be derived from the ixgbe driver source, so it would probably require porting the i40e source from FBSD to Illumos, unless a driver exists for a GLDv3-like platform under CDDL or similar license (none are known to currently be available or being worked on).
