Description

Improve default OPTIONS descriptions a bit:

  • Reword Makefile introductory header
  • Bring FTP_DESC in line with other protocols' descriptions
  • Reword descriptions for HTTP2, LIBOIL, LIBVIRT, LIBWMF, PYMALLOC (avoid lowercase letter in the beginning, misused plural tense, etc.)
  • Fix typos in LANG_AF, LANG_BE, LIBVISUAL, and MTP descriptions
  • Remove TOMCAT5_DESC which is no longer being referenced anywhere
  • Add WEBGL_DESC as I expect it to become more and more common

'file transfer' is better: it makes it clearer what the option may allow. "What does the FTP protocol do?" is not answered otherwise. This is true for all "____ protocol support" descriptions.
While FTP is fairly common, not all protocols are.

This change is better than the existing one so +1

There is certainly some reason in what you say. However:

  1. There is a balance to keep: these texts should be consistent, universal, yet accurate at the same time
  2. I think FTP is pretty well-known to our audience to worry about if it's clear what FT in it means :-)
  3. One compromise I can see is FTP file transfer protocol support, but that looks overly redundant
  4. That said, I've figured we're winning more here by making all protocols' descriptions obey the same pattern
