PR 235998

While I'm here:

  • Sorted variables a bit according to the PHB
  • Pet portlint

Changelog:

  • Add mutex lock to protect reads in raw mode
  • Fix a heap-use-after-free error
  • Add a missing lock when resolving a link target
Test Plan
  • poudriere (11.2-, 12.0-RELEASE, 13.0-CURRENT@r344112 amd64 + i386) -> OK
  • portlint -> OK
  • Runtime tests -> OK
