Summary

I just tried running plasma wayland on 15.0, it works great! CPU usage
is a tad high, but I'm very impressed!

+ kde is now the name of the community
+ modernize brandings, kde doesn't call it kde plasma for a long time
+ remove a stale note about adjusting message queue sizes, this is the

default now (since when?)

+ add instructions to launch with wayland, I typed this from the plasma

wayland session with no extra patches on 15.0, it Just Worked(tm)

+ add a drop of context for Konsole, in case the reader does not know

what that is

+ slight grammar smoothing

+ service is cleaner than sysrc, it warns if the thing isn't installed,

and has a portable syntax

+ xref the rc.conf manual, not its path, since we aren't editing it

directly anyway

This link is incredibly stale. We should work with upstream to clean up or clean out this.

+ rollback "sysrc > service" change, that should probably be socialized
+ adjust plasma meta package contents to align with upstream names

Frameworks is collection of libraries and add-ons for Qt, we can omit it here.

As for Plasma Desktop and KDE applications, we have thee meta ports:
x11/plasma6-plasma - Plasma Desktop

x11/kde - Plasma Desktop with basic set of KDE Applications: file manager, web browser, terminal, text editor, image and pdf/document viewers. This port is supposed to be shipped with FreeBSD release images, although it was excluded from 15.0-release due to size constraints.

x11/kde-gear - KDE Applications. This port is aimed to be the full set of KDE Gear apps ported to FreeBSD. However not all KDE are connected to this meta port yet (this is still in my TODO), so I'd suggest to use https://www.freshports.org/kde-applications/ for the full list.
