this is tested on main/amd64 but not on anything else, although this is the same version as in main which i tested on all supported releases.

if you wouldn't mind doing a quick testport for review so i can land this and fix the broken port i'd really appreciate that, otherwise, i'll be able to do this myself in a few days, but something urgent came up with the 15.0 release i need to work on.
