Summary

I think this is the only specific commit mentioned in my mastodon thread (https://mastodon.social/deck/@emaste/111229158907039679) that is still not in the release notes.

Graham mentioned that we should have a gpart bootcode caution, https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/@grahamperrin/111239333951787203 and also had other notes in https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/@grahamperrin/111265695742760546 that I haven't yet looked at.

I am also looking at highlights of changes that were already in 13.1 or 13.2 and will discuss those in a separate review.

About gpart: it is not mentioned in the release notes now, so I'm not sure why we need a caution. Has a gpart procedure been documented for FreeBSD 13, or just the warning? The procedure in the 14.0 notes is quite explicit.

I'm just passing on the feedback I got - looking more into it, I think we don't need to say anything about it. 13.0's relnotes had an explicit caution not to use gpart bootcode. One note on the EFI update procedure though, we document it for systems that boot from a ZFS root filesystem via EFI, but we should really encourage everyone updating to upgrade their EFI loader
