Summary

The steps suggested by pkg-message are obsolete since b646225a13e0 as
committed to base by emax@ in 2014. The change switched /dev/devstat
default permissions to 0444, and has been in base since 11.0-RELEASE.

I have looked for convention in a bunch of previous changes, and there was a mixed bag, so opted for alphabetical order in this one.

Quick question: did you discuss it with gnome@?

gnome@ has been CCed in the original PR filed in September 2025. Also I tried to CC the team here as well, but Phabricator claimed there was no such an account.
