Summary

Driver that uses the console driver internals to support an overlayed cursor in VirtualBox.
Supports cut&paste and scrolling of console like the mouse support on a std textmode console.
Has been useful to me over the years but newer got around to publish it.
Originally written for syscons back when but I forgot I ported this to "newcons".

If testing is needed I can try to give it a spin if you're not in an hurry. But I could need a pair of weeks to be able to give feedback.

Hi,

I have tested this with latest head built inside virtualbox. Updated sources a few hours ago.

Unluckily it crashes on detect, here is a link to a screenshot of the crash: https://www.madpilot.net/cloud/s/Szai9rGHXwoEXqn

Maybe it should be documented somewhere that to work it requires the VM to be configured with USB tablet pointer.

For information I've decided to migrate to bhyve and am not using VirtualBox anymore on FreeBSD, so I will not be able to perform further testing on this.

For this reason I'm removing myself from subscribers.
