are similar changes needed for FreeBSD's main branch?

Yes, I think so. I would hope all of the branches are up to date with our latest changes.

I've committed the latest sources as far as I know. However, I have no way of confirming that's what we have.

This patch also applies cleanly to main. And cleanly builds. Are there other changes that are needed?

As far as I can see, only FreeBSD 'cleanup' changes are missing in your repo, but maybe they are only missing in stable/13.

As such, my plan is to commit this tomorrow morning. I have to trust you that this works, especially with the 32-bit->64-bit DMA.... I didn't see anything else that looked at all suspect.

We have been testing the changes and everything looks good.

Thanks for your help.
