Summary

Jdownloader is a popular, open source, multi platform package
for downloading media from sites in bulk, uses its own updater.

WWW: https://jdownloader.org/

Because it uses its own updater i have set the pkg version with 9999 (if this is ok?)

Use $HOME?

This is so strange. The port just installs a script and desktop entry that fetches JDownloader.jar without verifying it in anyway. Why does the port not package the jar too? Its updater can probably be disabled somehow.

Even it uses its own updater the jar file still gets changes this would result in updating dist files endlessly.

Should i use my own mirror instead?

I'm not sure that jdownloader is a good candidate for a package, as it regularly updates itself.
