Summary

I created a patch based on feedback from PR 277068. Some of the items listed for VuXML in the Porter's handbook appear to have fallen victim of bitrot.

I've attempted to put in some useful links and removed obsolete records that seem to be no longer in use. Since some of those changes might be controversial, I figure it's better to put up as review than leaving it hanging on Bugzilla.

Any feedback, suggestions obviously welcome as usual. Thanks in advance!

Hi Chris,

These changes seem good to me. However, it would be helpful if you could give brief, but specific comments on why you made each change or update. Somethings like below.

  • The MITRE CVE was updated to a valid identifier.
  • The SecurityFocus Bug ID, US-CERT security advisory, and US-CERT Cyber Security Alert were removed because...

Hi Joe, thanks for the feedback. You're right, those changes look pretty arbitrary by just looking at them!
Adding additional notes on the reasoning behind them.

included a valid MITRE CVE instead of CAN, which no longer works.

171–172

removed obsolete MITRE CVE ids

173

security focus bug id removed, because Security Focus is no longer around.

174

US CERT id no longer works, removed

176

US Cert Security alerts no longer around, no redirects to CISA but no longer lists Security alerts.
